Q: Why?
A: Why not?
Why can’t you take it with you? Since the earliest burial rituals (think King Tut), folks have been buried with “a few of my favorite things”. At most mainstream funerals today we see photos and memorabilia of various kinds in the casket. We like cemeteries that are beautiful, burial sites with a “view”, family plots, hypoallergenic satin pillows, cryonic preservation. These items and arrangements are both a comfort to those left behind, and things we think our loved one would have wanted to have through eternity. Why not music? Why not?
Rockin’toEternity is a symbol of every generation’s desire to hold onto its music as long as is both humanly and technically possible. Music means a whole lot to many people. We all have musical memories evoking strong feelings every time we hear a certain song or musical genre. While for many things it is true that “you can’t take it with you”; for some things we can say “Maybe you can.” Why not?
Think of all the songs you have sent winging heavenward while singing in the shower or in the car. Recapture the feeling. Recapture the music. Why not?
We know that the departed live on through the people they loved and touched. Rockin’toEternity expresses the hope that a part of us can live on through the music that we loved, the sounds that touched us. Why not?
